When you have selected all the tracks you want to read and changed the properties information to suit your wishes you can click on the Read button to extract the tracks and save them as wave files in the track directory (or in the directories selected in the Track Properties -- see above). This displays the following dialog:
Single-speed read (1x): This option enables you to force the source drive to read at single speed (1x), which is the normal speed at which audio CDs are played. Use it only if you experience errors or poor sound quality when extracting at higher speeds. See Write and Read Speed Issues for a detailed discussion of this topic.
Click on Read to start the extraction. Progress is shown in the Status bar. Average Performance and Max. Performance show the average and maximum extraction speeds for the current reading session expressed in multiples of standard CD playing speed for example 1X for single-speed and 4X for quadruple speed.
When the process is finished a message is displayed informing you that the job is finished. When you click on OK to clear the message the Read CD dialog is closed automatically and you are returned to the main program screen.
